By Press Release

The Avalon Lions Club continued its support for victims of violence and domestic abuse in Cape May County by making a $4,000 donation to The Coalition Against Rape and Abuse (CARA). The organization provides crisis intervention, counseling, legal help, shelter and food for clients in need.
Past donations have helped to build a new handicap ramp for special needs clients and playground equipment for children who stay at the CARA shelter. This year CARA hopes to use the funds for a stair lift chair to make their facility fully accessible.
Avalon is the largest Lions Club in New Jersey with over 140 members. The club raises and donates over $100,000 annually to more than a dozen charities in Cape May County including Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity, CASA, Holy Redeemer Food Bank and the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children. The Avalon Lions Charities Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization.
