Avalon Lions Donate $30,000 to Diller Home for Blind

A check for $30

By Press Release

After another happy summer season at the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home For Blind Children, the Avalon Lions Club topped it off with a major contribution for its continued success. The Avalon Lions Charities Foundation presented a check for $30,000 outside the home during the club’s August gathering.
The Diller Home, located on 26th Street in Avalon, provides a week-long vacation for more than 150 blind and visually impaired youngsters. The children enjoy beach visits, trips to the Wildwoods Boardwalk, camp activities and much more.
The Diller Home is one of 17 charities located throughout Cape May County the Avalon Lions support with proceeds from a golf tournament, Pasta Night and White Cane collections. Avalon Lions president, Marianne Snyder said, “We couldn’t raise this kind of money without the support of all those who contribute so generously to our efforts throughout the year.”
