AVALON – The Avalon Lions Club pasta night will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Windrift Hotel, located at 105 80th Street in Avalon, N.J. The Vizzard Group will be among the Lions Club members preparing and serving the spaghetti-and-meatball dinner, which guests can enjoy for $15 for adults and $8 for children younger than 12 years old. In addition to the meal, the Lions Club will hold raffles and a silent auction during the event. Last year, the organization raised nearly $12,000 during the dinner and they hope to exceed that amount in 2013.
The Avalon Lions Club is part of Lions Club International, a service club organization whose members volunteer to make a difference in their communities. In Avalon, more than 100 professionals belong to the club. Together, they conduct fundraisers for the blind and less fortunate, supporting organizations like the Helen Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children and the Wounded Warrior Project, as well as community food banks. The Avalon Lions Club also provides volunteers for community service events.
