MAYS LANDING — Atlantic City Electric recently announced Special Olympics New Jersey as a primary beneficiary of its fifth annual Fall Charity Golf Classic.
Proceeds from this year’s event also will be donated to the Arc of Atlantic County and Tri-County Community Action Partnership.
“Since its inception in 2006, the PHI Community Foundation’s Atlantic City Electric Fall Charity Golf Classic has raised nearly a half-million dollars for nonprofit organizations in South Jersey,” said Atlantic City Electric Region Vice President Charlie Wimberg.
“We are honored to support Special Olympics’ efforts providing more than 21,000 adults and children with intellectual disabilities, the opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience joy and friendship,” he added.
“Atlantic City Electric and their employees have become great friends of Special Olympics New Jersey,” said Marc Edenzon, president of Special Olympics New Jersey.
“They understand that events like the Fall Charity Golf Classic will allow us to reach more athletes in South Jersey and provide more training and competitive opportunities for our athletes throughout the state.”
This year’s title sponsor is Cooper Levenson. The presenting sponsor is Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoades, LLP and the platinum sponsors are Kline Construction and IBEW Local Union 351.
The 2010 Atlantic City Electric Fall Charity Golf Classic event was held Sept. 27 at the prestigious Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway Township. Galloway National is a world-class private, 18-hole championship golf course rated in the top 100 by Golf Digest.
