Atlantic City Electric, a subsidiary of Exelon, was honored as the New Jersey Council of County Vocational-Technical Schools 2018 Business Partner for the Cape May County Technical School District. Ms. Ronnie Town, External Affairs Manager at Atlantic City Electric, received the award.
“Tonight’s honoree has created a partnership with certain Technical schools and Workforce Development Boards to facilitate educating a clean energy workforce of tomorrow. They have committed to a six year program that will enhance Tech’s expansion of energy career pathways,” Dr. Nancy Hudanich, Superintendent of the Cape May County Technical School District, said. “Through this partnership funds will be available for instruction on state of the art equipment required for learning industry skills in our high school new Energy Program.”
Hudanich added, “In this program Tech students will be prepared for post-secondary education or moving directly to employment with a utility company. The extensive program model not only helps students to build their knowledge of the energy industry, such as skills pertaining to energy grids, advance solar, wind and other innovation technologies it also includes employability skills and integrated academic components.”
Since 2001, the New Jersey Council of County Vocational-Technical Schools has recognized an exemplary “business partner” from each of the state’s 21 county vocational-technical school districts for their outstanding commitment to students.
