MAYS LANDING – Atlantic Cape Community College conferred the seventh annual President’s Distinguished Alumni Award to Gloryvie Reyes, a senior probation officer, and Terri Schieder, a health care executive, at the 49th annual commencement, May 19.
Reyes of Sicklerville graduated from Atlantic Cape in 2001 with associate degrees in psychology and general studies. She continued her education at Rowan University, receiving a bachelor’s in psychology. Reyes now works as a senior bilingual probation officer in adult supervision–sex offender unit at Gloucester Country Probation Department. She is a leader for the Latina-Hispanic Network, the Professional Latinas Alliance and the Hispanic Alliance of Atlantic County.
Schieder of Somers Point is a 1979 Atlantic Cape nursing graduate who went on to receive a bachelor’s in nursing from Stockton University, a master’s of science degree in trauma/critical care from University of Maryland, Graduate School of Nursing; and a master’s in business administration from Fox School of Business at Temple University. She currently serves as vice president for Business Development and Clinical Integration at AtlantiCare Health System. Schieder has worked for AtlantiCare since 1981.
The award, initiated by Atlantic Cape’s Alumni Association Advisory Committee, recognizes an Atlantic Cape graduate who has displayed professional, personal, public or community-based accomplishments. Past recipients include: Stephen Dunn, science researcher; Thomas Innocente, retired professor and law enforcement officer; Dr. Valerie Travis-Reese, a New Jersey licensed professional counselor, Atlantic City Attorney Katherine Morris; Linwood Attorney Michael R. Rann; and Janice Fipp, former superintendent of Northfield Community School.
