CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE—Atlantic Cape Community College received the Betterment Award from the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Oct. 20 for its role in presenting customer service training to more than 300 business owners and front line employees this year.
“The goal of the program was to make Cape May County be the new standard for excellence for customer service for the tourism industry,” said Esther Gandica, senior manager of Workforce Training at Atlantic Cape.
Atlantic Cape and the chamber kicked off the program—Jersey Cape Experience: Serving Dreams in 2016—at the Business at the Beach Expo in April. The college then ran 15 free training sessions throughout Cape May County in May and June.
“We are helping businesses increase their bottom line and grow customer loyalty by delivering superior service to their guests,” Gandica said.
This was a cooperative effort between the college, the Cape May County Chamber Education Foundation, and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
Also at the Oct. 20 chamber meeting, Dr. Mitchell Levy, vice president of Student Affairs and dean, Cape May County Campus, was inducted to the Cape May County Chamber Board of Directors.
