Anne Gibboni of North Cape May is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for September 2016. MAC Chief Outreach Officer Mary Stewart nominated Anne for the honor to recognize her years of service as an unstinting volunteer during large outdoor events on the grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate. Anne is the enthusiastic volunteer who makes fresh-squeezed lemonade for sale at MAC’s concession stand on the estate. It’s a job that takes a good deal of arm strength, endurance, speed and efficiency. “Anne is well-known at MAC for these qualities, as well as her many other talents,” said Stewart. “The lemonade stand is just one way Anne has contributed to MAC over the years. As an employee, she always gave her all, and as a volunteer, it’s no different. We are very fortunate that Anne is so generous with her time and has offered to volunteer into the future.” For over a decade, Anne worked for MAC in a variety of roles: Designer Show House Manager, Manager of Weddings and Private Parties, and Back Office Manager, among others.
“Throughout my life volunteerism has always been and continues to be an extremely rewarding experience,” Anne said. “When volunteering for MAC events, it is always a fun day at the concession stand!” Her colleagues bade a fond farewell in July when she embarked on the next step in her career at Cape May County Technical High School.
