An Apology for Breach of Ethics

By Al Campbell

RIO GRANDE — A story appeared Tue., Feb. 8 on the Cape May County Herald website under the headline “Man Last Seen in Rio Grande Reported Missing.”
The majority of that story was rewritten from non-Cape May County Internet media sources. Two paragraphs in that story, posted here at 7:38 p.m., were extracted verbatim from The Daily Journal in Vineland, in contravention of journalistic principles.
For that breech of ethical practice the Herald apologizes, and will redouble its efforts to ensure that no similar occurrence takes place in the future.
