CLERMONT — Volunteers In Medicine (VIM) of Cape May County will hold its 7th Annual Gala event to honor and celebrate those in the community who have helped make the 11-year-old clinic a reality.
This year’s theme is A ThanksGathering in the Garden to be held on Sept. 20, 2013 at the Abbie Holmes Estate in Clermont. The elegant evening will include music by the Herb Moore Trio, cocktails on the garden patio, watching a fall sunset and dining from a fabulous menu specially prepared by Chef Heather Holden.
The Stone Harbor Lions are being celebrated as “Outstanding Caring Neighbors.” The Lions equipped the Eye Room at the Clinic with state of the art equipment and have funded VIM’s Eye program since opening day. “Volunteers In Medicine is very fortunate to have “neighbors” like the Stone Harbor Lions who care deeply about the health of their community and the people of Cape May County,” said Sandra Gott, Chair of VIM’s Board. The Stone Harbor Lions club is in its 61st year. It was chartered in 1952 by local business owners who wanted to expand from purely professional concerns to working for the betterment of their community.
Kenneth Cramer, MD will be honored as “Outstanding Volunteer Physician.” Dr. Cramer, of Cape Urgent Care has been volunteering at VIM since 2009. His kind and gentle nature, as well as his medical expertise make him a much beloved doctor by volunteers and patients alike. Medical Director, Elizabeth Crowley, MD said “We are so fortunate to have all our great doctors; I am thrilled that we are able to recognize Ken for his generous contribution of time and talent.” Dr. Cramer was born and raised in Cape May County; spent 12 years in the Air Force where he served as Chief of the Emergency Department at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida; and is on staff at Cape Urgent Care.
