CAPE MAY – The 4th annual Ice Ball held at Congress Hall Saturday night to benefit the Fund for Cape May was once again a magical and successful event. The Ballroom and Grand Lawn were transformed into an enchanted world of shimmering ice sculptures for the philanthropic celebration.
Hosted annually by Congress Hall, the Ice Ball raises private funds for public projects to support South Jersey’s Cape Island communities. The Fund for Cape May was established in 2014 by Curtis Bashaw, co-owner and co-managing partner of Cape Resorts. Profits from the ball are donated to The Fund to promote the preservation and revival of the Cape Island communities.
The nearly $100,000 raised during this year’s event will go toward the Fund for Cape May’s second project, which will expand the War Memorial at Columbia Avenue and Gurney Street into Soldiers and Sailors Monument Park. Previous donations from the event have gone towards the restoration of Rotary Park, which reopened two years ago and requires ongoing upkeep and maintenance. The Fund also encourages youth in the area to become active citizens.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
