COLD SPRING — For the past 25 years, antique dealers from across the Mid-Atlantic region have gathered along Historic Cold Spring Village’s shaded, clamshell lanes. The village, which has held summer weekend events since it opened its doors in 1981, is pleased to announce that the Cape May Antique Show & Sale is its longest-running annual event.
The 25th anniversary of the event will be commemorated with two weekend shows; July 10 and 11, and Aug. 7 and 8 open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Historic Cold Spring Village’s restored historic buildings will also be open with historical interpretations and demonstrations of the trades and crafts from the mid-1800s. Dealers will display and sell their wares along the tree-lined paths, and amongst the village’s historic buildings, which span from 1691 to 1912.
Featured items at the show include country and Victorian furniture, silver, ephemera, glass, linens & textiles, pottery, primitives, toys, books, Americana, and more! The Country Store will be open, featuring a selection of handmade artisan wares, heritage toys, books, preserves and more.
At 2 p.m. the Saturday of both events, enjoy the swinging sounds of the Bob Ferris Orchestra, providing big-band entertainment for all ages. “The Village is the perfect venue for an Antiques Show,” said HCSV Executive Director Annie Salvatore. “What better way to enjoy and purchase your favorite items from the past than in a setting that transports you back to Early America?”
This annual event is sponsored by The Priester Foundation, and has been a favorite village event since the mid-1980s.
Fun and educational activities for children are featured Tuesday through Friday now to Sept. 3, as well as weekend events until mid-September.
Historic Cold Spring Village is located on Route 9, three miles north of Victorian Cape May and a mile and a half west of the southern terminus of the Garden State Parkway.
Admission during the season is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (62 and over) and $6 for children ages 3 to 12. Children under 3 are admitted free. For more information on employment, events or booking private affairs, call 609-898-2300, ext. 10 or visit the Village website at www.hcsv.org.
