COURT HOUSE – Find out what all the buzz is about. Attend Rutgers Cooperative Extension Agricultural and Resource Management Division’s workshop, “From Hive to Honey,” April 18.
This is the third installment of the “Gardening by the Seasons” 2016 workshop series. It will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Court House. (Turn at the light at Atlantic Cape Community College, make the first right). The building is handicapped accessible.
The class will be taught by Jennifer Sawyer, beekeeper and Rutgers Master Gardener coordinator for Cape May County. Participants will learn basics of honeybee biology, the role of beekeeper and bees, and well as products of the hive.
The presentation will be followed by a honey extraction demonstration and honey tasting. Live bees will be on display.
This is a beginner class, therefore, no prior experience is required. Dinner will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. The presentation will follow at 6 p.m.
