CAPE MAY – The Beach Theatre Foundation (BTF) announced today that they will be holding a yard sale in Cape May to help defray legal costs from their recent efforts to save the former Beach Theatre. The event is scheduled for Sat., Oct. 15 and will be held in the parking lot of the Wawa property located on Bank Street adjacent to Swain’s Hardware. The yard sale will begin at 9 in the morning and conclude at 5 p.m. A rain date is set for the following day.
Items for sale will include old movie posters, Bruce Springsteen posters, signed Beach Theatre neon painting prints, restaurant equipment, furniture, household items, amplified speaking lectern, collectibles, antiques, theatre stuff, memorabilia, baked goods and many other items.
“We think this yard sale will be a fun and effective way to help pay for the legal help we needed in our efforts to help save the historic Beach Theatre. Sadly, we lost the long battle to save this important community asset. However, we thank the legal teams that have stood with us for so long. This event is for them.” said Steve Jackson, President & founder of the Beach Theatre Foundation. Jackson added, “We would also like to thank the generous folks at Wawa for allowing us to use their property for this fund raising effort.”
Cash, checks and all major credit cards will be accepted for item payments.
Individuals can donate items to the yard sale and receive a tax-deductible donation in the same manner they would with Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Receipts will be given for all donated items. Donations will be accepted (same location) on Fri., Oct. 14 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. For more information, the foundation can be reached at 609-849-8780 or email info@beachtheatre.org.
