The Barnyard Buddies 4-H Club would like to invite everyone to come to the 2017 4-H Fair. There is so much to do and see at the 4-H Fair, making it a perfect summer treat. Our club members raise and show horses, cattle, hogs, lambs, rabbits and poultry. We are a very hands-on club. We do activities so that our members are prepared to raise their animals as well as show them to the best of their ability. We also support our members’ interests in attending other fairs and shows.
Throughout the year, our club does many charitable projects. We feel that community service as a group and individually is very important. During the holiday season, we collect canned goods for a local food bank. This year, we also gathered breakfast/snack items for a local school. Our member, Thomas Germanio, was the top fundraiser at the Dennis Township School for ‘Pennies for Patients.’ Plus, he volunteered at a senior center during their barbecue and also did landscape work as part of the ‘Lowe’s Heroes’ project. Rylan Wnek participated in community service events with the food bank and the Red Cross. Whether it is an organized project or just lending a hand to a neighbor, Barnyard Buddies is up to the task.
Raising and showing animals at the Fair is the highlight of any 4-H year. Sam Barry has been working hard year-round building quality show stock to show and sell to others for showing. With his past earnings, he has been able to start small breeding herds of Angus cattle, sheep and hogs. Thomas Germanio brings generations of farming knowledge to our club. Rylan Wnek’s enthusiasm for horses, rabbits and poultry demonstrates that you are never too young to learn about animals. If you are interested in a livestock club, come check us out. Hope to see you at the 4-H Fair!
