The Avalon Free Public Library is a very busy place anytime of the year and there are a variety of programs to choose from.
Knitting Instruction takes place Mondays 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Scrabble is played every second and fourth Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.; and Story Time for all ages with songs and crafts for children is every Thursday at 10 a.m.

The Library is collecting non-perishable goods for the Holy Redeemer Home Care’s Jersey Shore Food Pantry in Swainton. All canned or packaged food items can be placed in the collection baskets in the lobby.
You can also drop off Toys for Tots there. New and unwrapped toys can be dropped off up until Dec. 23 in the collection box in the lobby.
Library hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
