AVALON – The Avalon Free Public Library will host the following events during the month of March.

Award Season Film- Creed
Adonis Johnson (Jordan) never knew his famous father, world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed, who died before he was born. Still, there’s no denying that boxing is in his blood, so Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa. Once in the City of Brotherly Love, Adonis tracks Rocky (Stallone) down and asks him to be his trainer. Despite his insistence that he is out of the fight game for good, Rocky sees in Adonis the strength and determination he had known in Apollo—the fierce rival who became his closest friend. Great Decisions Foreign Policy
Sessions are being held for eight weeks through April 25. Great Decisions is America’s largest discussion program on world affairs. The program model involves reading the Great Decisions Briefing Book, watching the DVD and meeting in a Discussion Group to discuss the most critical global issues facing America today.
Topics for Great Decisions 2016 include: Middle East Alliance, The Rise of ISIS, The Future of Kurdistan, The Koreas, The United Nations, Climate Change, and Cuba and the U.S. Registration is required by calling 609-967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.

Facebook for Seniors
Instructor Chuck McDonnell will be presenting general functions of Facebook to include: setting up a personal account, searching for family and friends, sending and receiving messages, and posting photos. The class will consist of presentation slides and hands-on demonstration. Chuck is a graduate student at Stockton University (class of 2016,) majoring in Arts Information Technology, and Director of Recreation for the Borough of Avalon. Color Me Happy: Benefits of Adult Coloring
Professor Kate Daniels, Holistic Health and psychiatric nursing teacher, will give a brief introduction to the benefits of adult coloring.
