AVALON – The Borough of Avalon will officially unveil the first municipal electric vehicle charging station located in South Jersey, and the first station at the Jersey Shore, on Friday, August 5, at 11:00 a.m. The charging station will allow owners and operators of electric-powered vehicles to re-charge their vehicles in a safe, efficient manner. The charging station comes at no cost to Avalon taxpayers while promoting clean energy.
Electric vehicles will be on hand for demonstration purposes providing excellent video and photo opportunities. Avalon elected officials will be on hand along with members of the Avalon Green Team, Avalon Environmental Commission, and Avalon business organizations. In addition, U-Go Stations officials will be on hand to discuss the rapid development of green technology infrastructure throughout the United States.
The event will take place in front of the Avalon Public Safety Building, located next to Borough Hall, between 30th Street and 31st Street on Dune Drive, Avalon New Jersey (Exit 13 off the Garden State Parkway).
