COURT HOUSE – The Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage will hold National Adoption Day celebrations Nov. 16 in Atlantic County and Nov. 17 in Cape May County and. This year the vicinage will finalize the adoption of 15 children.
In Atlantic County, adoptions will begin at 9 a.m. in the Jury Assembly Room on the first floor of the Atlantic County Civil Courts Building, 1201 Bacharach Blvd., Atlantic City. The proceedings will be conducted by Assignment Judge Julio L. Mendez and Judges Nancy Ridgway, W. Todd Miller and Pamela D’Arcy. Gifts will be presented to the children.
The Cape May County adoption proceedings will begin at 9 a.m. at the Cape May County Courthouse, 9 N. Main St., Cape May Court House. Adoptions will be conducted by Judges Mendez and M. Susan Sheppard.
The events in Atlantic and Cape May counties will be co-hosted by the vicinage’s family division and the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency, in collaboration with the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Atlantic and Cape May Counties and Surrogates Dean R. Marcolongo of Cape May County and James Curcio of Atlantic County.
