CAPE MAY – The Atlantic Brass Band will perform a free concert at Cape May Convention Hall Sept. 5 at 8 p.m. The free concert is just one of the many activities in Cape May to celebrate Labor Day Weekend.
The Atlantic Brass Band, founded in 1984, is one of the premier volunteer performing ensembles in the greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey area. The band, led by Rowan University President Salvatore Scarpa, is comprised of professional musicians, professors, educators, and community members. Their schedule includes bringing summer nostalgia to the New Jersey shore, religious concerts to area churches, and educational formats for area schools amongst numerous other commitments. The group’s musical repertoire continues to include a wide selection of music from: opera, jazz, ragtime, Broadway and movie soundtracks.
The Atlantic Brass Band concert is free and open to the public and is appropriate for all ages. Cape May will also be offering free concerts at the Rotary Park Bandstand on Lyle Lane beginning at 8 p.m.
Sept. 4: Sweet Adelines.
Sept. 5: Cumberland County College Jazz and Wind Symphony.
Sept. 6: John Walter Cape Community Band.
