The Flight of the Willet at the Wetlands Institute –
Join Joseph Smith from the Nature Conservancy for a journey from the salt marshes of the East Coast to tropical mangroves on Fri., April 27, at the Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a covered dish dinner; cost is $5 members, $10 nonmembers, plus a covered dish to share with eight people. As Red Knots and other shorebirds pass through New Jersey, learn more about the Willet, America’s only marsh-nesting shorebird. Call 368-1211 for reservations by April 26.
Aquarium feedings at the Wetlands Institute –
Help the Wetlands Institute staff feed the fish and terrapins or just watch the turtles chasing minnows and the horseshoe crab gobbling shrimp on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. It’s free with general admission; members are free. 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd., Stone Harbor.
