SEA ISLE CITY – On July 5, following a fun-filled Independence Day weekend, the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization hosted their Second Annual Summer Fashion Show at the resort’s new Band Shell. With ten local retailers supplying stylish attire, the fashion show put a bright spotlight on Sea Isle’s business district and the many shops and boutiques that supply residents and visitors with fashion apparel.
The event began with a series of dance routines that entertained the large audience gathered at the Band Shell. Kicking up their heels were students from The Gibson School of Dance in Warminster, PA, and Dance Dynamics in Seaville, NJ. Also performing was Barbara Bennett, 11, Sea Isle City, who charmed the audience by dancing to Singing in the Rain.
Following a rendition of The National Anthem by vocalists Katie Dunn and Kelly McGlynn, the fashion show’s models hit the stage wearing apparel and accessories from Jump for Joy Children’s Boutique, Jamaican Me Crazy, Sunsations Boutique, Beachy Keen Beach Supplies, The Seaside Shade Shack, My Sister’s Closet, Kathy’s Boutique, Sands Department Store, Groovy Girlz Boutique and Heritage Surf and Sport Shop.
Afterwards, audience members enjoyed a complimentary raffle that included 50 gift bags, each stuffed with a variety of items from local businesses, including gift cards, jewelry, hats, coupons and more.
According to Colleen Falcone, owner of Groovy Girlz, the fashion show was a complete success.
“This event shows-off Sea Isle’s shopping district,” said Falcone, who co-organized the production with Jamie Heritage of Heritage Surf and Sport. “More and more businesses are opening in Sea Isle City each year, and our business community is flourishing.”
“The fashion show was a great activity and one that is unique here in Sea Isle City,” added Heritage. “It combines dancing, singing and fashion – it has appeal for all ages with fashions for everyone.”
