The Cape May County Library offers program to kids and teens on robot programming in September. Children from 4th through 12th grades are invited to attend Basic Robot Programming presented by Robodyssey, LLC on September 17th. Two sessions will be held. Session I is for kids in grades 4th to 6th grades and runs from 9:30 am until noon. Session II is for teens in grades 7th to 12th and runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the Library, located on 30 Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House.
Ever wonder how to talk to a robot? Robots will only do what you tell them to do–not necessarily what you want them to do! Participants in this program will learn to speak the language and how to make robots understand what you mean to solve a maze. **Participants should have a functional knowledge of the Windows environment.
The Robodyssey Software Training System uses a stimulating class challenge and an entertaining guided tutorial to guide participants through the incremental steps of computer science necessary to perform an autonomous mobile robot to solve a maze. Students learn programming skills based on Microsoft’s Visual Basic language while competing in a non-destructive class challenge. http://www.robodyssey.com/
Registration is required for this event. Participants must have a valid library card. To register, or for more information, please contact the Children’s Room at (609) 463-6354 or go online at www.cmclibrary.org.
