A Message from Ron Day, President, 4-H Foundation, Inc.

By

As president of the Cape May County 4-H Foundation, along with our Foundation Board of Directors, we strive to furnish a great place for our 4-H families to experience every interest imaginable. Agriculture, equestrian, livestock, electronics, fishing, cooking, public speaking and all around fun are just a few things we try to make available. We have had a few improvements on the fairgrounds, and are completing others for this year’s fair. Also, the County has been excellent helping with material and labor to make the fairgrounds look even better.
The 4-H clubs have once again stepped up to make our flower beds even better than last year. The competition is “on” to have the “Best Judged Garden.” We have also asked our clubs to adopt an area of the fairgrounds to maintain before the fair. The clubs have been very cooperative with this new endeavor. Our committee chairperson, Elvina Johnson, has made the garden competition more popular each year.
We, once again, ask our 4-H alumni to step up and become a part of supporting our annual fair. Help spread the word and bring your family and friends; the fair has a lot of competition being so close to the boardwalk, beach and waterways. July is a very unpredictable season for weather as we found out on Saturday night of our 2016 fair.
Our fair times are noon to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and an opening time on Saturday of 10 a.m. Come out and enjoy the excitement of our 4-Hers, enjoy great entertainment and see that 4-H is for everyone.
Please support the vendors that our vendor chairperson, Pam Gaskill, has invited to share our 4-H Fairgrounds. If you are a vendor or know of a vendor that might be interested to attend the fair, check our website www.cmc4h.com for more information. Like us on Facebook and share our site with friends and family.
Fair is a team effort, and our team is the best at making things better!
