ATLANTIC CITY — Eight students completed the Academy of Culinary Arts four-month noncredit training program that began this past spring in the Caesars Entertainment Wing for Hospitality and Gaming Studies at Atlantic Cape Community College’s Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus. An awards ceremony recognizing the students’ achievement was held at the campus, Thurs., Aug. 3.
The program began with Chef Bruce Johns, director of operations at the Academy of Culinary Arts, welcoming guests, followed by Otto Hernandez, vice president of academic affairs at Atlantic Cape, speaking about the many opportunities available to the graduates through the ACA and the merits of continuing their education. Dr. Barbara Gaba, president of Atlantic Cape, also welcomed students and thanked them for all their hard work in achieving this goal. Certificates were presented to students by Culinary Training Program instructor Ulrich Lohs of Egg Harbor Township. The beginning of the training was under the supervision of Chef Ryan Macey of Ocean City.
Valedictorian of the Culinary Training Program, Peter Vetri of Brigantine, spoke about the incredible talent of the graduates and his aspirations to one day own a food truck.
