The Cape May County 4-H Youth Development Program congratulates the winners of its 2018 4-H Equestrian of the Year Contest. Andrew Heim was selected by a panel of judges as the 4-H Senior Equestrian of the Year. Heim is active in 4-H and is a member of the Shore Blazers 4-H Club. The 2018 Junior 4-H Equestrian of the Year title was awarded to Caitlyn Martindale. She is a member of the Hy Riders 4-H Club. 2017 Senior 4-H Equestrian of the Year, Erin Schalick presented their awards.
The 4-H youth are judged in three categories: resume, personal interview and stage presentation. This year’s title bearers will represent 4-H at events around the county and state, and at the 2018 Cape May County 4-H Fair on July 19, 20 and 21 at the 4-H Fairgrounds in Cape May Court House. Good luck to Andrew Heim, who will compete in the New Jersey 4-H Equestrian of the Year Contest in August.
