2017 County Teen Arts Festival to be Held April 27

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Culture & Heritage Commission invites all county teens to participate in the 2017 “Surf’s Up” Teen Arts Festival.  The one-day Teen Arts Festival is held annually in April or May, this year April 27, at various locations in Ocean City.  Any teen from Cape May County is invited to display their talent, meet with professionals in their field and attend workshops or master classes.  Students who participate and receive a designated score then become eligible to participate in the New Jersey State Teen Arts Festival.

This is an opportunity not only for students to showcase their talents, but to meet students from other county schools, to have written critiques from qualified and experienced adjudicators, and to attend workshops led by talented artists in their discipline.

The Cape May County Teen Arts is part of a statewide multidisciplinary program in the fine and performing arts.  Open to any student in public or private school, as well as home-schooled students and those who are involved in extra-curricular private instruction, the program encompasses activities in dance, theater, vocal music, instrumental music, film, creative writing and the visual arts.  We encourage all teens active in the fine and performing arts to participate in the Festival.

Pre-registration is required and registration deadline is April 14.  For more information regarding the 2017 Festival, including rules and registration forms, please visit the Culture & Heritage website, www.cmcculture.net or email culture@co.cape-may.nj.us.
