Communist China – Our Enemy

Anthony DiSimone, Wildwood

The Herald publisher recently provided a warning about the threat posed by China. He notes the Chinese Communist Party (led by Chairman Xi) seeks world domination by 2049. That is their publicly stated goal. We must believe them. So what do we do as we watch the advance of Chinese influence on many fronts?

First, and most important, is for this nation and our sensible allies to recognize this threat for what it really is. They seek to create a communist world dictatorship as they now have in China. This is not a simple “financial rivalry,” it is a raw pursuit of the destruction of democracy. Once we have our government and our government agencies acknowledge we are at war with China, the next steps are the solutions to prevent the Chinese advances.

Commerce is one key. America must lead the way in a total decoupling of our economies as quickly as possible. Shutting down imports of all goods and also services, including financial investments, is essential. The U.S. financing our enemy by bolstering their commercial and financial operations is outrageous.

End “most favored nation” trade agreements immediately. We must find friendly nations to do commerce with and many are willing and able to displace China right now. Our U.S. State Department needs to be guided to our allies and cooperative nations with which to do commerce, not China and Chinese allies, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, and Cuba. Cut them out of our commercial sphere.

Obviously, we may suffer in some sectors, as China controls some essential items we need, like “rare earth” (they control 75% of the world’s supply). Find alternatives and pay the price for it. Our manufacturers can make all the medicines we use. Give those U.S. companies tax breaks and regulation easements to fast track manufacturing at profitable rates (actually it will create millions of jobs).

Second, we need to match the military buildup and strategic locations worldwide that the Chinese have already done with advances like the “Belt and Road program,” building military bases in the South China Sea, taking over areas in the ports of key nations by buying their way in. We must do the same quickly. We must enhance dramatically our cyber protection in government and business.

Third, shut down the internal infiltration in our country and convince allies to do the same with economic, social, and military assistance. Shut all “Confucius Institutes” and outlaw similar activity. Ban TikTok. Shut down every Chinese police station they have set up in our cities. Stop Chinese students from attending our universities.

Restrict all Chinese from coming into the country without specific reason and 24-hour surveillance, including so-called “diplomats.” Reduce all Chinese consulates to a few, perhaps three, critical locations (Washington D.C., New York, and California). Then provide extensive surveillance of those locations and personnel 24/7. Ban all Chinese ownership of all the land and companies in America. Force all of those that exist to sell out. Do not allow any Chinese to own anything in this country. Insist allies do the same.

These three things are a start. There are many other things but if we start, we can derail the Chinese 2049 plan and maybe cause some kind of upheaval in China by isolating this ruthless regime.
