To the Editor:
The ban on cellphones in schools is like trying to ban beer from the Super Bowl. The first screen, television, and later video games created a society of couch potatoes. In 2012, the Mayan calendar indicated the world as we knew it was going to end. We interpreted it as a global catastrophe of some kind.
However, the Mayan calendar was correct, because from 2012 to present the acceleration of technological devices has turned all of humanity into auto tons of flesh, bone and blood robots.
Cellphones are powered by cellphone towers that produce microwaves. If you live within two miles of a cellphone tower, you are in a microwave field … cancer?
If you have an issue with a cellphone tower in your neighborhood, you can challenge its placement for aesthetic reasons or property value concerns, but why would the government legislate that you cannot challenge it for health concerns?
The powers that be say they are going to ban cellphones in schools, but they are already making concessions. The sad truth is you can ban cellphones from their physical possession, but not their psyche. They have been programmed – this is their identity and this is how they function. It is also clear that cellphones are not just an issue in schools. Texting while driving and organizing flash mobs is totally cool.
Studies have already indicated that these devices are having a negative effect on children’s brain function.
I do not embrace technology the way most people have … so I stand back and watch our young people being dehumanized. The most frightening aspect is … they don’t realize it. If we don’t have a choice, who or what is in charge?
