Patrolman Alex Pruszinski, second from left, was August’s Employee of the month.

From the City of Cape May

City Manager Paul Dietrich and Police Chief Dekon Fashaw were present at Tuesday’s Council Meeting to recognize Ptlm. Alex Pruszinski as the City’s August 2024 Employee of the Month.

Ptlm. Pruszinski has been a member of the Cape May Police Department since 2017, beginning his career as a SLEO II Officer, advancing to full-time status in 2020. Since that time, Ptlm. Pruszinski has excelled in the Patrol Division. Ptlm. Pruszinski has a very good street presence and levelheaded approach to handling difficult situations that arise while on patrol. Ptlm. Pruszinski is one of the Department’s Recruitment Officers, Resiliency Officers, Defense Tactics Instructor, Police Bike Instructor, and has most recently been accepted and is now an active Operator on the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team.

Police Chief Dekon Fashaw proudly shared, “As the Cape May Police Chief, I am very proud to serve alongside of Ptlm. Pruszinski, as he navigates this tricky career and life goal of being a Police Officer.”

Ptlm. Pruszinski loves being a police officer, interacting with the community, especially our youth. You may find him running radar, walking the Washington Street Mall or simply playing a quick round of kickball with our kids on the Lafayette Street playground area.

The City congratulates Ptlm. Pruszinski, but especially thanks him for his service to our community.
