From Cape Assist

What: a benefit event for Cape Assist, a substance abuse prevention and treatment organization

When: Thursday, September 21 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Where: Icona Windrift in Avalon

AVALON – Cape Assist will host its annual Endless Summer Benefit on Thursday evening, Sept. 21, 2023. Guests will get to know the nonprofit and learn how to take an active role in building a healthier and safer community for Cape May County’s youth and families, all while participating in and enjoying authentic Polynesian entertainment and a live auction.

Community members are invited to the ninth annual benefit on Thursday, Sept. 21 at the Icona Windrift in Avalon, from 6 – 9 pm. The benefit continues to grow year after year thanks to the support of local businesses and hundreds of individuals.

Last year, the event hit two record-breaking milestones: Over 300 people attended and raised $83,000 for the nonprofit, more than any of Cape Assist’s past benefits. Cape Assist kindly requests the help of community members and businesses by promoting the event, purchasing a ticket, making a monetary or in-kind donation for the live auction or becoming an event sponsor. The deadline for sponsorship is Friday, August 25.

“Last year we celebrated Cape Assist’s 40th Anniversary in conjunction with this event and what a celebration it was,” said Tusa Magalogo-Fitisemanu, Cape Assist’s Director of Communications. “We are so grateful for our partnerships and the ability to raise money and awareness through such an exciting evening. I know this year; we can go even bigger!”

Cape Assist’s unwavering goals for this event are to raise awareness for the free services and programs offered, show its vital role in Cape May County communities, and raise money to sustain these opportunities.

As part of its mission, Cape Assist prevents and treats substance misuse and related issues in Cape May County through education, advocacy, counseling, and community collaboration. Cape Assist hosts events throughout the year to provide youth and families with opportunities to create healthy habits. Each year comes with an abundance of community support where Cape Assist is reminded of the thoughtfulness of its many major event donors like Sturdy Savings and Icona Windrift.

For the first time, Icona Windrift is offering discounted blocked room rates for those looking to stay in Avalon after the event.

“This event truly showcases what it means to be part of a community,” said Cape Assist’s Executive Director and CEO Katie Faldetta. “Our team, our local businesses and community members work hard to bring this event to life, and it grants us so much more than an evening to remember. We can give back and provide the support desperately needed for our friends, our family and our loved ones.”

Cape Assist is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are considered tax-deductible.
