CREST HAVEN – Allaire Health Services and the County of Cape May reached agreement in November, 2023 on transitioning leadership and management of the 180-bed Crest Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center to Allaire effective January 1, 2024. The Crest Haven facility, located in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, has a longstanding history of providing patient care and residential services to the Greater Cape May and Southern New Jersey Community, and Allaire looks forward to continuing the County’s commitment to the region.

Under the management and operations agreement, Allaire will continue to operate the facility as a nursing home and will retain all staff who are actively employed at Crest Haven. Allaire will invest in the facility and in staffing to ensure ongoing operations and the ability to implement new services that further elevate the work that the County has done historically. Allaire will also continue the operation of the Meals on Wheels program that is run out of Crest Haven.

Allaire’s approach to operations and management focuses on providing a population specific cohort of patient and resident services, beginning with a high level of engagement with staff. Staff members will have the opportunity to receive training in service excellence and will be engaged in all aspects of Allaire’s service proposition. In addition, Allaire will carefully evaluate the local and regional population and work closely with area physicians and hospitals to identify specific clinical program opportunities that will best serve the region.

“Allaire Health Services is proud to partner with the County of Cape May and the Greater Cape May community to continue the great service of Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center,” said Ben Kurland, president and chief executive officer of Allaire Health Services. “We look forward to building upon the history of excellent care that the County has promoted and provided throughout the facility’s history, and we are committed to ensuring the personal, clinical, and spiritual wellbeing of current and future patients and residents.”

Allaire and the County anticipate having a strong and ongoing partnership in the management and operations of Crest Haven. Allaire has assumed operations and management of 5 other county-owned facilities, so this type of transition is not new for Allaire. Allaire’s philosophy for this type of transition is to maintain a close level of communication and engagement through the transition to ensure continuity and focus on patient and resident services, as well as advancement of new opportunities to further engage staff, patients, and residents in the advancement of health and wellness as part of facility operations.

“As we researched and evaluated potential partners for the ongoing operation and management of Crest Haven, Allaire Health Services stood out as a leader in the industry and as an ideal partner based upon their history of working with county-owned facilities,” said Leonard C. Desiderio, Commissioner Director, Cape May County Board of Commissioners. “We are confident in Allaire’s leadership team’s ability to work with us and the community to continue existing services and introduce new services for patients and residents. They bring a very personal and engaged approach to patient, resident, and staff engagement, and we look forward to working with the Allaire leadership team going forward.”

Allaire and County of Cape May Administration anticipate a smooth transition of leadership and look forward to a strong partnership for the future.
