Nature journaling is one of many great activities at the Cape May Point Science Center

The Cape May Point Science Center is open for tours rain or shine every day of the week at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.! Just not on Tuesdays! Come learn more about the fascinating history of Cape May Point, about how our iconic building was used over its 135-year history, and the ecological significance of the Cape May area for migratory wildlife of all kinds. Our exhibit halls are air conditioned to help you beat the heat and our beautiful pollinator garden is in full bloom so don’t forget your camera! Tours can be booked in advance by visiting our website at www.capemaypointsciencecenter.org and clicking on Book A Tour, but walk-ins are welcomed!

Come to a presentation, “They are not called Seagulls- the many gull species of New Jersey.” This lighthearted talk, by naturalist Josh Gant will shed some light on those pesky, seaside scavengers we love to hate and (hopefully!) give you a new appreciation for their diversity and role in our coastal ecosystem. Grab a take-out lunch from your favorite eatery (we recommend Homestyle To Go, our lecture series sponsors!) or bring one from home and relax at our Third Thursday Lunchtime Lecture Series on Thursday, July 18 from 12 to 1 p.m. You’ll be ready to hit the beach with new knowledge about those crazy French fry stealers! Light dessert will be served provided by Homestyle To Go.

Full Moon Fancy! Join us on Saturday, July 20 for a celebration of the moon (and stars!) at our very popular stargazing event from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m..

Learn more about the art and science of nature journaling on Thursday, July 25 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Art teacher Peaches Lukens will introduce you to several different media for exploring the natural world through art, and give you plenty of time to use your new skills in our stunning pollinator garden. All materials are provided including a spiral bound journal for you to keep. Just bring your love of art and nature!
