Avalon Lions Go Back to School to Help Kids Learn

Avalon Lions second Vice President, Dr. Loretta Finnegan (center rear) joins students and Program Director, Rosie Jefferson (left) and Concerned Citizens President, Bernie Blanks for a check presentation.

In Whitesboro, summer camp means learning lessons and having fun at the same time. The Concerned Citizens of Whitesboro Rainbow Camp and Homework Club got a helping hand recently with a $7,000 donation from the Avalon Lions.

The Homework Club may not sound like fun, but combined with indoor and outdoor activities, games, and dinner, more than 65 K through 5th graders love every minute of it.

Every year The Avalon Lions support dozens of organizations in Cape May County helping children, needy adults, senior services and the blind with donations and volunteering. ‘We Serve” is  the Lions motto. Hard work and fundraising makes it happen.
