Robert L. Porter, 72, of Avalon, NJ, went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2025. Bob was born and raised in Newark, DE. He graduated from Christiana High School and was in the Delaware National Guard for six years. He became a sales representative and worked for 51 years in the industrial packaging industry. He retired last June 2024.
Bob became a New Jersey resident when he married the love of his life, Diane, in 1980. They lived in Runnemede, Mullica Hill, and then Avalon, NJ, where they have owned a home since 1986.
Bob enjoyed singing and entertaining his friends. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, tennis, playing softball, and basketball. Bob had many friends and liked to organize golf trips. Bob loved entertaining and threw many fun parties for his family and friends. Bob and Diane enjoyed traveling to other countries but found they loved exploring our country the best.
Bob leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Diane; also, a brother Whitey (Nancy) of Las Vegas and a sister Sally (Norman) of Virginia.
Bob and Diane are members of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Mullica Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob to Trinity United Methodist Church, 284 Cedar Road, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062 would be greatly appreciated.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Condolences at www.radzieta.com
